Did Sinwar lose contact with the external leadership of Hamas?

A report published by the Israeli website “Walla” on Friday said that the leader of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, has become isolated from the movement’s leadership outside the sector, due to the continuous Israeli bombing of Gaza for four months.

According to “Walla”, political sources say that the leader of the movement did not participate in making the decision to respond to the proposals of the prisoner exchange deal, and was not part of the formulation of the response.

Israeli estimates suggest that the movement’s leaders made decisions in the recent period without Sinwar’s knowledge, indicating that the prominent leader in the movement has become besieged by the Israeli forces that announced it previously.

In an official statement, Hamas announced that Khalil al-Hayya, deputy head of the movement, arrived in Cairo with a delegation of Hamas leaders, to continue the dialogue on a ceasefire.

The outline that Hamas seeks to achieve includes, in the first phase, a ceasefire for more than 40 days, and the withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza and the repair of the damage, in exchange for the release of women, the elderly and the sick.

The second phase includes the release of soldiers and young people in exchange for the departure of all Israeli forces from Gaza, and in the third phase - a ceasefire for another 45 days.
